Advancing 3D Metrology Heliotis was established in 2005 as a spin-off from Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique, a partially government sponsored research institution. Its activities consist of the development, the production and the sale of measuring systems which enable light microscopes to acquire 3D-images in real-time. Conventional OCT products have been used over the past few years for biomedical purposes, especially in ophthalmology. Heliotis offers a unique innovation called pOCT (parallel Optical low-Coherence Tomography) that allows for capturing of 3D-images two orders of magnitude faster than conventional systems. The key component is the 'smart pixel'-technology, which is protected worldwide by a large patent portfolio. With its disruptive optical technology, Heliotis offers solutions which dramatically improve two-dimensional to three- dimensional microscopy, thus opening the gate for entirely new applications in automated industrial processes as well as in medicine and biometry. Heliotis leads the way from 2D to 3D microscopy in real-time at affordable cost.
